in the middle of a very lackluster recit (at best. at worst, i was just being stupid, plain and simple. boo :( ) my prof asks me: do you want to be a lawyer?
me: (after some hesitation) yes, sir.
prof: do you want to practice
me: (after even more hesitation) yes, sir.
and then i start to cry, all the while hoping that the floor would just open up and swallow me alive or that i had one of those buttons which when pushed would cause my instantaneous (and pain-free!) death.

HOW PATHETIC IS THAT? puede pa if the professor was giving me a particularly hard time, but NO. the waterworks were triggered by a very innocuous question. i think he asked me that to try to get me to be more aggressive as admittedly i sounded dead and senseless (in my defense i was tired, but then in retrospect that's not an excuse), but that simple question brought forth all the confusion and fear i have with respect to law school and lawyering in particular and my uncertain future in general.

ARGH. talk about self-inflicted humiliation. not to mention the fact that i broke a promise i made to myself that i would not cry until the 27th of September which is 79 days from now.

oh well, if it's any consolation i'll probably be laughing about this incident very soon. that and i'm on the road to a Darwin award or an analogous award that has yet to be made since i don't want to accidentally "delete" myself from existence. haha.
